Switching around

I think Em is so clever. The TV was on a Deutsch channel, Deutsche-Welle. I was not watching, but was just struggling to see how many words I could manage to catch and understand. Em said he could understand the programme. When I asked him for the specifics, he said 70 - 80% of what was being said. He proved it when he started telling me what the programme was about.

Ok. My boyfriend is so smart.

Then, we switched to News@11 on Channel U. That's when the scale tipped in my favour. But, lo n behold! Em can read a few Chinese characters now! Pandai!

I'm growing to be a heavy-bottom. Just returned my mum's measuring tape to her sewing kit in dismay.

5 kg in 8 months, translating to 3 inches all round. Not very funny. Sigh...

Loitered at Suntec after lunch with Snow. Knowingly strolled into Harris, which was having a clearance sale of 20 - 50% off. Seduced by the books. Ended up with a new novel and a new dessert cookbook in my bag as I stepped out.

Yeah... I'm gonna make desserts. Starting with the apple crumble. Or perhaps the orange syrup crepe. Or the cheesecake. Caramel banana sounds easy enough too.
